Story telling

Thompson Square trades songwriting for storytelling with new children’s book that looks like Nashville

Thompson Square are a seasoned country duo with two top five albums, certified gold and 2X platinum singles and continue to rack up multiple Grammy nominations and three trophies as Vocal Duo of the Year at the ACM and CMA Awards.

After welcoming the birth of their son, Cooper, in 2016, Shawna and Keifer Thompson’s husband-and-wife team released their third studio album, Masterpiece.

Maintaining a successful music career seems tough enough, but that doesn’t stop Thompson’s powerful couple from stepping into something new. The two are now channeling their songwriting skills to help them create lyrical children’s literature, inspired by their son.

“We wrote a CHILDREN’S BOOK all of you !!! It’s time to get dressed is so special to us, ”exclaimed Shawna. “It started out as a song Keifer sang to Cooper and has turned into a book anyone can read to their kids! We are delighted to be able to share a part of our family with yours.

Playful, melodic and colorfully illustrated, the picture book, It’s time to get dressed, is a way to teach children to prepare for their day. The sung story and accompanying melody are a simple and eye-catching way to help children learn and remember what they just read.

The book’s official release is scheduled for November 13, and you can pre-order the book here. Those who pre-order will receive a signed copy of the adorable lesson book – along with a digital download code for the backing song “Time To Get Dressed,” sung by the duo.
