My first novel, The Rift: A Bolingbrook Babbler Story, is still on track to release this year. Just needs a little more editing before it’s ready for wide release.
In the meantime, here is the new presentation text:
Tom Larsen grew up believing the stories of the Bolingbrook’s Babbler diary: UFOs, half-human weredeer and gangs of vampires roaming the streets at night. Then one day his parents told him the truth: all those stories were lies.
Fresh out of college, Tom has earned a reputation as a blogger of the science skepticism movement, debunking reports of paranormal occurrences in his hometown. However, after famed podcast host Jamie Kyle posted a video about how Tom’s attempts to ‘connect’ with her at a doubters conference left her feeling uneasy, the blogger was mad.
Now in his mid-twenties and still angry at his humiliation, Tom has made a career out of championing the skeptic movement against “modern feminists”, including Humanist Heart, a group of social justice skeptics. And, when he learns that his hometown of Bolingbrook will host the Humanist Heart convention and that Jamie will be their guest, Tom hatches a plan to confront the podcaster.
The only problem is that he has to work for the Bolingbrook’s Babbler to get into Congress, and risk ruining his reputation as a skeptic. But an attack by a weredeer while working on his first mission for the Gossipy leaves Tom’s beliefs in pieces. Monsters, UFOs, everything he tried to demystify, are all real!
Now there are angry men’s rights activists trying to disrupt congress, were-deer have surrounded the area, and mysterious time rifts are appearing throughout the village. Only Jamie and the Gossipy can help Tom solve this problem, but will he be able to overcome his anger and mistrust before reaching the point of no return?
Coming soon. Subscribers to my newsletter will be the first informed of the release date.
