Over these many years, people from all walks of life have shared stories with children. Doctors, engineers, lawyers, writers, actors and a large number of teachers contributed to it. Many stories have also been told in series. Vimalashree narrated the Ramayana for 20 weeks while D. Balakrishnaiah narrated the Mahabharata for over 25 weeks. Dr. Ramanath regaled children with stories of Vikram and Betal for 15 weeks.

Limca Book of Records recognized this achievement and included ‘Kathe Kelona Banished’ in their annual records for the year 2015. Vijaya Sindhuvalli, the backbone of all Suruchi Rangamane’s activities, is now affectionately referred to as ‘Kathe Mane Ajji’ by children.

“During these years, several generations of children have gone through the program. Typically, we see children start around 6-9 years old and continue dating for about three years. Some of the children who participated in the initial program have now graduated,” says K. Nagaraja, co-organizer, Kalasuruchi.
