This one is going to be on the closing.

After giving us two absolute masterpieces like “Your Name” and “Weathering with You”, the director Makoto Shinkai returns this year with another potential hit. The trailer for the film titled “Suzume no Tojimari” just released and we got a first look at the upcoming project.

So, what is Suzume no Tojimari about and what can we expect from this Makoto Shinkai project. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie so far:

First Look at Suzume No Tojimari

The released teaser for Suzume no Tojimari does not contain any dialogue and only relies on the visuals of the teaser to convey the impression of the movie to the viewers. Suzume, the film’s main character is featured in the teaser who is seen riding a bicycle and wading through water.

In the water stands a door freely without support and is supposed to be a portal to different places. One of the locations is a ghost town that was probably an old spa destination. The place is apparently a visual appearance of letting go of old wounds.

Makoto added a statement with the teaser which read: “We have to think about how to close the many doors we have left open. I entrusted this responsibility to Suzume as she travels through Japan closing various doors. I sincerely hope this film leaves its audience with big smiles and excitement as it leaves the theater.
