The competition will be organized in three groups: from first to fourth, from fifth to seventh and from eighth to ninth. Children in grades 1 through 4 will need to tell a story in 2-4 minutes, children in grades 5-7 in 3-5 minutes, and children in grades 8-10 in 4-6 minutes. The story is not tied to any theme. The contestant can use different dialects and styles of Konkani while telling the story. For example, Pedne style, Sattari style, Kankon style, Sashti style and others. Children from special schools can also take part in this competition. Many school children are not allowed to participate despite their skills and teachers are accused of preparing children close to them for competition. Therefore, the organizers asked the schools to first organize the competition in three groups at the school and send the first two winners to the competition at the central level. The organizers will also hand out certificates to contestants who participate in the grade level competition. Each contestant at the central, district and state levels will also receive certificates and prizes in the form of books for the contest winners.
